Eligibility
You must be a current University of Manchester student with a valid @manchester.ac.uk email address. One account per person.
Zero tolerance for abuse
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not harass, bully, threaten, or discriminate against others. No spam, scams, impersonation, sexual or illegal content, or sharing others’ private information. Treat the community as you would in person at a university event.
Your content
You own the content you post. You grant us a licence to display it within the app to other members. You are responsible for what you post.
Reporting and moderation
Posts that contain slurs, explicit sexual language or urge someone to harm themselves are refused automatically. You can report any post, answer, poll, module tip, profile or message, and block anyone from their profile or your chat. Reports are reviewed by Sermo's moderators, who aim to act on them within 24 hours: content that breaks these terms is removed and the accounts that post it are suspended or banned. Anonymous posts can still be traced to your account for moderation.
Meeting other members
Mentor matching and events help you connect with other students. We are not responsible for interactions between members. Meet in public, look after yourself, and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.

Independence
Sermo is not affiliated with or endorsed by the University of Manchester or any student society. Events and opportunities from societies and employers are listed for information; the organisers are responsible for them.
Availability & liability
The app is provided "as is" without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app or interactions with other members.
Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
